We have a great deal to look forward to in near future! Let’s take a look at upcoming happenings.
The Center for Community-Engaged Design is hosting an Open House on September 19th from 1-5pm at 842-B W. Lee St. The Dean and Provost will also be in attendance to offer comments and support.
Go to the Movies to here opera tunes featuring Victoria Livengood on September 20th at 7:30pm at the Aycock Auditorium. It is a red carpet event starts at 6:45, where you can dress like your favorite movie star walk the red carpet, and get your picture taken just like a celebrity. The Small House Convergence will be held the weekend of September 19th through September 21st at the Living Well Community in Franklinville, NC. A weekend to learn about building a strong small house through tours, demonstrations, and workshops for construction and design. If you are interested, go to http://www.livingwellearthstewards.com.

Tate Street Festival will be held on September 27th from 1-7pm, where you can scout and buy crafts. Venders are still desired to sell arts and crafts. For more information, please go to thespace340.com for more information.

Ongoings at Weatherspoon Art Museum:
NM_GSO is having COLLAPSS preform! This performance will feature Laurent Estoppy and Steve Stusek both playing saxophone, Nicholas Rich on guitar, and Corey Dehman playing percussion as well as dancing by Brianna Taylor. If you want more information go to http://performingarts.uncg.edu/nm_gso.
Lesley Dill, the Fall 2014 Falk Visiting Artist presents her exhibit, Faith and The Devil, opening September 13th through December 7th, 2014. Additionally, there will be an Artist Talk with Rev. John Mendez on September 18th at 5:30pm at the WAM Auditorium.
Art on Paper 2014: The 43rd Exhibition is opening September 28th through December 14th. There will be a Preview Party September 27th 6:00-9:00pm which includes a Exhibition Tour by Xandra Eden, the Curator of Exhibitions. There will be an open bar and hors d’oeuvres, music by Roberto Orihuela, and a raffle to win an original drawing by Nancy Blum. A ticket is needed to get into the event, advance tickets are $75.00 for members and $90.00 for non-members and then the tickets at the door will be $85.00 for members and $100.00 for non-members.
