[2nd] Year Project 3: Furniture for Two

April 7, 2014 § Leave a comment

Doug Leckie and Dickie Cox‘s last studio project is Furniture for Two.  This project consists of building a piece of furniture for two populations, adults and children.  The piece of furniture should provide function for adults and yet “provide a platform for play” for children.  An example given was a dining table (adult) that allows it to transform into a fort (child).  However, “one function should not dominate the overall design as to diminish the function for the other population’s use”.

Although both previous projects presented challenges in their own way, I sense this project has shown to be a bit difficult to start for the class.  It will be interesting to see how my fellow classmates and I will manifest our ideas for this project.

This project will be presented on Monday, April 28th during morning studio.
