[1st] Year Almost Over
April 21, 2013 § Leave a comment
The [1st] year studio students are wrapping up their semester with an installation project for the Weatherspoon Art Museum. We are to create a temporary structure for a fundraising event. Inspiration for our installations are Christopher Alexander’s “Fifteen Properties of Good Design” and certain materials. We are to create a full scale model of our installation, as well as an accurate scale model representation. Also, we are incorporating our Design Visualization course by drawing out the plans of the garden and a scaled sketch of our final proposals. Our final critique is April 30th and will be in room 401.
We will have a guest critic from Weatherspoon, so the [1st] years are taking things serious. We encourage anyone to come to our critique as well as taking a moment and walking over to our studio space and looking at our full scale installations in the space. Some things you might see are wall hangings, free standing structures, and draped hangings. Come out and support the [1st] years as we unveil our final project. This is our final project before we transition into [2nd] year.
