Connections through [2nd] Year Studio

April 8, 2012 § Leave a comment

In [2nd] year studio with Stephanie Brooker, the focus has been restaurant design. The students are to design a space from a previous structure located on South Elm and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in downtown Greensboro. With busy traffic and a railroad station across the street, it was important the students understand the surrounding vernacular of the area. As the students’ design style grows, they still recognize the importance of designing for the community, guaranteeing a strong connection between individual and neighborhood.

Pictured below are images of concept models by several students, an earlier process in the design stage helping them take a direction in their planning.
