[4th] Year: Midterm Critique

March 16, 2012 § Leave a comment

Midterm critiques were held Monday and Wednesday for Jo Leimenstoll’s [4th] year class. The students have been working on a re-design of the historic Southeastern Building, situated at the corner of Market and Elm Streets in downtown Greensboro. While some students have opted to return the look of the building to its original 1920s facade, others have made drastic changes to the building by adding balconies, outdoor dining areas, and expansive windows. Ideas for spaces inside the building include restaurants, coffee shops, food markets, a Korean restaurant, an H&M, and Urban Outfitters. While it is still to be seen what the developers of the building will actually include, some great ideas are circulating within this class about what young professionals in Greensboro would like to see.
