IARc is at it again and starting a new semester with a fresh outlook for the department. This semester, the students in Hannah Mendoza’s 4th year studio are collaborating with our local community in Greensboro as well as the local community in Kyekyewere, Ghana!

This studio will develop and construct a primary (elementary) school for the local communities in Kyekyewere. The class will be working side by side with local and global developers as well as Habitat for Humanity of Ghana. The project will offer a new outlook on design, networking, construction, global issues, and our department! Students will able to work in the field , address real life issues, and gain knowledge from the contributing companies and schools. This studio offers a chance for students to take on design in a new way to impact the lives of children and future generations to come.

The project site is set for construction in January 2011 where a team of students from our department are welcome  to travel and help construct.
